'Teen comic'
Strengths:
1) Mint Sauce

2) er.... no thats it!
Weaknesses:
not to much interest to anyone over 18.

Self promoting staff writers. ("Hey, arn't we rad/great/famous?")

Overall:
Almost solely responsible for starting and hyping bike trends yearly, causing "the Kids" to spend their (and, no doubt, their parents) cash on the next fad (Hibbard stands out as telling "the Kids" to buy long-travel full-sussers, then the next year ditch them for hardtials "because you'll improve your skills", etc).

Large tree's in Scandanavia die for this rubbish..

'The best of an average bunch...'
Strengths:
Generally good trail/XC coverage;
Doesn't waste too many column inches in glossy spreads telling us how 'rad' its staff (and selected pro's) are;
Still 3-5 ride guides per issue;
a more adult sense of humour (its supposed to be entertainment, after all...);
OK for product guides and bike tests.
Weaknesses:
Slowly losing its sense of humour (as the 'Loaded' for the cycling world it was very good - well made me laugh anyway);
doesn't seem too sure who its target audience is.
Lacks the Zen-like "Mint Sauce" cartoon strip
Overall:
I'm not embarassed to read it on the train into work (unlike other 'youf' mags).
More relative to trail/XC riders
