Strengths: Does what it says on the tin. Amazingly warm, great wicking and breathablity, and best of all you can wear it a good few times before it starts to smell and you need to wash it.
Weaknesses: It would be nice to have the sizes better seperated, I got the S/M and it could do with being a bit smaller on me (I'm only 10st). Somewhat pricy.
Overall: Fantastic base layer, doubt you could get a better one. With just this (S/S version) a L/S jersey (endura sunbeam) and endura thermal bib longs, I seem to beable to cope with any weather - been out several times in frosty ground and kept reasonably comfortable even when waiting for punctures to be repaired.
Strengths: Tough, fantastic warmth and confort, even water proof to an extent - water tends to roll off rather the soak in. Remain warm even when stopped, due to being incredibley breathable and the light fleece lining.
Overall: No weaknesses as such, but could do with having the end splay out a bit more to go over boot collers, mine tend to develop a gap at the ankle making my feet colder then they need be. Otherwise well worth getting a pair for the winter.
Overall: Bit of an odd fit these shoes and they have very little in the way of give, took me two pairs to get right, but that's probably mainly due to my slightly freaky long toes. Make sure you try these on before you buy them. As they are such light boot there is not much in the way of insulation, but this easily compensated with two pairs of socks (which also allows you to use them in the summer).
Strengths: Look good, Nice features - zip pockets etc.
Weaknesses: Don't fit me at all, small is far too large where usually small it about right or a smidgin too small. Padding it nowhere near where it should be - this prolly due to it being too big, but the padding covers my crotch but not my arse, so i'm sitting on the saddle with nothing but the fabric in between.
Overall: Perhaps it unfair as I should have swapped them for a pair of XS, but I don't get on with them at all. The Perl Isumi Mesa's (size S) fit me perfectly, are the same price, and IMO look better, but don't have the features Which the altitude have. I don't think i'll get another pair of these.
Weaknesses: 80mm travel? Where'd the other 15 go? Very flexy. Found it difficult to set up the air pressures just right, air ramping was very noticable - but then that's probably just me.
Overall: If you want very light weight good performance XC, these will fit the bill.
Strengths: Obviously the light weight, and good ammount of stopping power. Fit my forks perfectly first time (no alignment was necassary).
Weaknesses: Due to it's light weight the caliper halfs flex when you really sqeeze the breaks, giving a slightly squidgy feeling - but thats hardly a problem.
Overall: Very nice brakes, easy to fit, work well. Possibly more expensive then they need to be (£20 more for 30g weight saving over the pro version) but then I'm a weight weenie.
