Weaknesses: backend feels a bit twitchy around corners at speed.
Overall: this bike was my dream bike and being my first full sus i am well impressed. i find i can push my self harder on trials and obstacles that before i would have to think about i am finding that i have cleaned before i have had time to think! climbing the bike is superb with traction beign laid down whilst my friends with hard tails are scrabbling. down hill i am now beginning to scare myself with both speed and what this bike can handle. it really iss the consumate all rounder which don't get me wrong is expensive but all the kit is worth it. ok MArin have this mondeo image but if enjoying your riding is more important than looking 'Bling' this is the bike for you. i am champing on the bit for the first trip to wales on it. the only thing i have changed is the tyres back to panaracers that i know and love.
Strengths: Quality. Riding position. Quality frame as per rockhopper pro. Options to upgrade are endless. price.
Weaknesses: Standard forks coil too weak. Standard pedels awful.
Overall: What a great bike. For someone like me to get back into riding after a 10 year absence. I did all the mags internet and was gonna go for the hard rock pro (dazzled by the amount of kit) but upon looking closely, realised this is a great platfrom of entry. Do definitely test this bike as the geometry just seem to work for me (6 ft + 15 stone) now after having it for 3 months I have upgraded the pedals to spd's and have one hope mini mono on the front. great bike, great price. Look at this if you are thinking of a hardrock (as I was) for 50 quid this is a better bike. I think its great but as I have been out of biking for so long we will see at the end of the year.
