Strengths: Well they've got XTR written on them, so that should convince most people. They do stop well but......
Weaknesses: Develop the 'Shi*mano rattle' same as tho old XT, which is strange seeing as though they're virtually the same design.
Overall: Unlike Greig and Daniel I believe that Avid Arch Supremes are THE BEST V's money can buy. No rattle or squealing, just bucketloads of usable power.with a loverrly parallel push mechanism.
Strengths: You can't help but ride this bike quickly. It's great uphill with a tight rear end but the thing that surprised me is how quickly it encourages you to go downhill. A true hardcore racers bike
Weaknesses: Price. Its engineered beauty is quirky but for some (including myself) it is this change from the Taiwan mass production the is one of Pace's strengths.
Overall: In the end it comes down to the ride and my Pace just begs to be ridden hard. I should have bought one years ago.
Strengths: Absolutely stunning bike to ride. Its an ear to ear grin from start to finish. The titanium feel is very difficult to describe and its all been eulogised over before - all I would say is yes, titanium is THAT good and that Kona make the best handling hardtails in the world. The King Kahuna is way light but not all whippy like a Merlin. You'll get no chain rub on the front mech on this baby.
Weaknesses: Exclusivity, quality and the Kona name don't come cheap.
Overall: There is no better hardtail - and its not at all hard. 10 out of 5 for performance and reliabilty. 2 1/2 out of 5 for value - £1600 is a lot of dosh for a pushbike frame, and that's when you could buy one! Sadly no longer listed so its too late. Now forgive me while I go riding.
Strengths: Quality, made in UK from excellent materials. Unusual design may render some people sceptical - don't be ,it really works! This is a cold weather jacket that will keep you warm in the hills during a downpour and dry out quickly with body heat. Temperature management is via large vents and neck opening, and velcro cuffs. Under crotch strap keeps your bollocks and arse warm & dry and goes unnoticed during rides. You have to 'get to know ' how to use a Buffalo effectively, but once converted you'll look forward to our usual shitty 9 month long winters!
Weaknesses: mmm - not good for summer use,ha ha .Seriously - I thought initially it had quite a specific useage but I couldn't go back to my usual Helly Hansen and lined Goretex. I guess versatility isn't one of the Buffalo's strengths.
Overall: Does the job its designed for. I wouldn't be without one.
