Strengths: Keeps transmission clean and largely mud free. Does not splash onto disk brakes. Has survived crashes and general wear and tear.
Weaknesses: Fiddly to fit. Fluid is expensive.
Overall: Not the easiest to fit. I found mounting the pump on the cross bar near the headtube worked best. The muddier and grittier it is the mor fluid you go through but it has kept things running smoothly over winter rides and two Polaris events.
Strengths: Once set up they need little attention. Consistent stopping power. Don't pump up even when red hot. No squealing.
Weaknesses: Don't have masses of stopping power. Look a bit flimsy though I have had no reliability problems.
Overall: After the initial messing around with the set up these brakes have required no attention other than a pad change. The standard fromula pads did wear quickly in the rain and mud but new EBC gold pads are still going strong. They have power equivalent to a well set up set of V brakes in the dry and hold this performance in all conditions. If anything the performance improves the worse the weather becomes, especially with the harder gold pads. Not as powerful or immediate as Hope minis but much quieter.
Strengths: Excellent over small bumps, loose stones etc but can handle bigger hits too. Range of adjustment is great for tuning for different rides or racing.
Weaknesses: Mine have been very unrelaible. Have been back to Madison twice and still not fixed! Have to pump air into them every 1-2 hours out on the trail. Bought them in April, three months on the bike two months with Madison (so far).
Overall: Would be the best forks I have ever ridden if they could be relied upon.
