Strengths: I have just had a weekend of fun with one of these up front (2.3). Grip and take you round a corner where other tyres would have left you for dead. And off course they look sweet and chunky!
Weaknesses: Not found any yet ;)
Overall: They still need some more testing, but after a weekend of riding in gunk Im still happy with them. Stock is a little low at the moment, but I know Wiggle have em for 24.99.
Strengths: Grip and grip and grip. In this mucky weather we've been having recently, these tyres have been a life saver. I can trust these to get me up the trickiest of climbs. And off course they look sweet and chunky.
Weaknesses: 2.3 are perhaps slightly too wide out back on my Specialized Enduro, meaning gunk build-up, but I need that grip!
Overall: A good buy - especially for 24 smakkers from allterraincycles.co.uk. A good compliment to my Vertical Pros up front. A mucky terrain tyre only - I expect to switch it during drier times.
Strengths: Look sweet - I have a blue pair. Set of 4 interchangable lenses. Bombproof case (aparently!) plus soft case. They will survive more crashes than you - they've got one of those stiff but bendy frames!
Weaknesses: They don't fit as tight and close to the head as I would like - maybe because of my slim head. And thus you are quite often prone to a bit of mud-in-the-eye!
Overall: A cracking shade, just a shame they are a bit too loose. I would just recommend to try b4 you buy!
Strengths: A good quality build. Sweet styling with numerous vents top and rear (no flat back) plus some tasty colours (mine's silver and red). Close fitting means it integrates well with your head ;)
Weaknesses: Err...mmm...helmet hair! Thats it.
Overall: At the end of the day, helmets are quite a personal choice and you should try out the full brand range to find the one that fits nice for you. The Animas fitted nice for me and I like it. Would have liked the E2, but to be honest it didn't fit as well and was a bit too pricey!
Strengths: Stopping power when you need it. Cheap. Look great. Plus always parallel [to the rim] pads cater for ease of setup and a fat tyre.
Weaknesses: On or off...little in between. But this is the typical nature of 'V's.
Overall: No disk lugs on my Enduro frame meant my choice was between these and Maguras for a more than capable rim brake. Although I haven't tested the Maguras, I am more than happy with these babys - especially at £29.99 from Chain Reaction!
Overall: I had wanted to buy a Camelback from the beginning of the year and was awaiting the new Siren before I did. However, when the spec of the Siren was released I was very much put off by the very little or no storage and 1.5 litres of hydration. So, eventually, I chose to go for the Rocket instead. A couple of things that concerned me before it arrived was the longer length than the Siren and the heavier weight due to this length, hydration and storage. But as it turns out I needed have worried. It fits really well making use of upper and lower chest staps for extra stability - even without these fastened it holds well thanks to good shoulder straps. So no worries when jumping. Hydration is just enough for my 4 ot 5 hours at the weekend and my pump coupla allen keys, screw driver and energy bar snuggly fit in the storage - all this and you completely forget the things on your back! Its instant hydration is invaluable.
