Strengths: Fit, looks, durability, pockets and comfort.
Weaknesses: Price. Belt straps a tad long
Overall: Super comfy and highly practical baggy short with loads of pockets (including one for your mobile.) Detachable inner short with the sort of quality padding only Endura seem to punt out. The fit of these shorts is spot on, the length of the legs is bang on at just below the knee. The waist band is fully adjustable as are leg cuffs. Very durable nylon outers mean a quick drying butt on wet rides. The best baggy out there by miles.
Strengths: hard wearing, light, looks good. made in England
Weaknesses: None so far
Overall: Needed a tough as boots 32 tooth chainring for my singlespeed. Although not SS specific it isn't ramped and has chunky teeth that work well with a BMX chain. Have used DMR Saturn rings in the past (cheese) and noticed the finish coming off the teeth in one ride. This ring has been ridden hard and not a sign of wear. For 20 dabs it's a bargain.
Strengths: total eye protection, sturdy construction, easily interchangeable lenses, brow pad, hard case, good value for money
Weaknesses: steam up ascents on cold days
Overall: Value for money interchangeable lens cycling glasses. Having struggled on with my casual everyday glasses these bins are a godsend. Cover the eyes almost completely so no more watery eyes on cold mornings. Good range of lenses supplied from light 'thrama' toned to dark grey.
Strengths: Look ace, I had to order a pair from a Kona dealer after repeatedly seeing them in Kona ad's. Did you know that the Kona splat is actually a stylised sphincter?
Weaknesses: Availability
Overall: I must confess to buying these grips due to their good looks. However they do their job brilliantly, really grippy and wear well. They are long too and on my 27" easton risers give me loads of different postions to put my hands. Always used WTB dual compound before now but will be using the Jackshits from now on. I'm going to order a few pairs just in case they stop making them.
Strengths: Excellent traction front and rear (however due to an elongated summer I've no real mud experience)
Weaknesses: Wear quickly (back tyre worn out in four months) plus 1 inch split in tyre wall (pro version)
Overall: I really like this tyre. Compaired to say Fire XC's I'd chose these every time. Wear is fast, therefore I think I will be plumping for the wire bead version from now on. Traction is excellent and handling predictable. A superb tyre.
Overall: The standard rotor's are heavy, thick and a bit nasty. IMO the calipers look better than Hopes, kinda more ergonomic. I must confess to upgrading the rotor's to Hope's (but only when I could afford it) they still came in cheaper than mini's and weigh slightly less. Modulation is fine in fact stopping in any condition isn't an issue. Using Fibrax sintered pads these days.Overall very happy.
P.S if new to discs as I was these are definitley better than Avid mechanicals (have them on the singlespeed)
Weaknesses: Eastons shot peened anodised black finish wears off just as quickly as it ever did.
Overall: Moved to the EA70's after having had the EA50's for a couple of years. I'd trimmed my 50's down to 25.5" and felt they were too narrow. These are 27" and I must admit took a while to get used to.
Riding through tight gaps between trees is a gas, however the extra control the 27" width gives is confidence inspiring. I like them a lot
