Strengths: Like an Intense Tazer, but at £700 a frame. Brilliantly effective sus design Exactly the right amount of rear travel Comes with BB chased and Headtube and disc mounts faced Specialized UK have an amazing warranty department.
Weaknesses: Frame gets in the way of adjusting the shock's preload and damping Travel adjustment is dissapointingly crude - you put specers behind the bottom-out bumper I'd have prefferred routing for a full outer on the rear mech. ISCG mounts would have been nice.
Overall: Fantastic frame. I wanted something stronger than an Enduro, but with more travel, but not quite a big hit. The supercross is perfect.
I've only ridden it for 2 hours now, so im going to give it an average reliability score.
Weaknesses: It died before i found any other than the fact the bearings last about 10 mins. I got through the one i bought and 4 warranty replacements in 6 weeks.
Strengths: Strong as f*ck Nice travel - very plush! ECC at £150
Weaknesses: still a bit of movement under lockout. bit of brakerub with maggies, but i've got discs now!
Overall: I'm running mine really really soft, so that it eats any bumps, and just use the ECC on the road. My mate has to run his MXC's super hard to climb the road hil to get home!
Strengths: Dont slip Makes bar changes a doddle Comfortable Simple
Weaknesses: Dont fit bent bars like the Roox FPS, and my mate had great fun fitting them to his cut-down XC riser bars! (they are a bit wider than average)
Overall: If you are running wide bars, or even normal ones, these are great. They keep your grips on the bar, and mean no more messing about with hairspray/washing up liquid/nail varnish etc. to keep grips on. A bit on the expensive side, but you can use the clamps again....
Weaknesses: Too light and weak - it didnt give me the peace of mind that my new azonic one does.
Overall: Good product, but check it'll fit your forks before you buy it! If you want strength, or dont mind weight, i'd go for the Azonic one, but i think it's down to personal preference really.
Strengths: Stops the pedal hurting Cheap Big, big knee cup to land on
Weaknesses: Knee cups flop around a lot Not the most comfortable of pad Has a habit of riding up your leg as you ride
Overall: Cheap and cheerful pads. Didnt expect much more for the money, and looking at others at the same price, i could have ended up with a lot less.
A good first pair of pads, but as you get faster/better/more scared i'd get dainese.
