Strengths: Super plush straight out of the box . Full travel - mine are set to 125mm Rebound damping has a huge effect - set it up correctly . I use the lockout all the time and it works well .
Weaknesses: A bit heavy but it's bombproof.
Overall: Had this fork for about 4 months fitted to my Intense , always intended to reduce the travel to 100mm but it's sooooo nice at 125mm I just car'nt do it .
Strengths: Looks fantastic, rides beautifully and fsr rear-end gives excellent traction up and downhill . Built up with a fox vanilla this bike is awesome getting me into and out of alot of trouble. Very high bottom bracket - I never catch anything with the pedals. Fully adjustable setup , if your into that!
Weaknesses: Not light , but then I have built mine up to take the big hits ( about 28lbs ). Paint work and frame stickers aren't so good and there are no brake hose guides. This frame was £1600 a year ago - don't think I would have paid that for it! Not sure how many big rock strikes the frame will take - it sounds very thin.
Overall: Don't buy one - I like mine being the only one on the block !
Strengths: U turn adjustment is excellent. Very plush fork and I only weigh 11st
Weaknesses: Rebound adjustment is limited - knob only rotates 90degrees . Psylo badge came off after a few months. Steering is very twitchy at 125mm of travel
Overall: Excellent fork for all round use . DOn't touch that U turn knob when your on the bike - it will break ! Took mine apart to service after 8 months hard riding and they were still imaculate inside. Get em for under £200 and your laughing!
Strengths: Quality is good and battery like is ok. 10W & 15W is a good combination.
Weaknesses: Same as above - Y connector is crap , joint is not secure enough . Charging can be a pain if you want to use the batteries separately as well as a pair - instructions tell you to not charge unless both batteries are fully discharged (will not charge only 1 batterty) and not to use as a pair unless both batteries are at the same charge level ? - this seems very sensitive to me ! Control panel on handlebar is a pain - do not drop the tiny nut or bolt !
Overall: Good set of lights let down by some bad design . Usefull to have two batteries for commuting but charging instructions seem too sensitive.
Strengths: The bike weighs in at 27lb and that's with all my accessories on . Good balance and the components are OK , mostly Deore and LX . I like the upright riding position - which may not appeal to all.
Weaknesses: Fork is not brilliant & get the shop to put a different saddle on.
Overall: Good bike for the money , I love to throw this bike around when my full sus needs a rest.
Strengths: Good quality strong ali frame, good spec for the money especially XT kit and Hayes discs , original price in 2000 was £1600. Good bike for upgrading .
Weaknesses: Heavy - my weighed in at 35lb ! Wheels - mine eats spokes & the hubs are poor - I have replaced the original Novatec hubs with Hope XC.( Just replacing the wheels & hubs has reduced the weight by 2lb ) Tyres are poor
Overall: This bike looks good and if you decide to upgrade the weak parts of this bike eg Fork , wheels , hubs, tyres and OH YES - ditch that saddle ! you get alot of bike for about £1200.
Strengths: Very good stopping power in all weather conditions. Pad's are very easy to replace .
Weaknesses: Same as Steve , I found the pads do not always retract fully causing drag . I also have problems with sticking pistons and now have a dud one.
Overall: These discs came on the bike, pads last me about 6 months. I'm not sure if I would go to this expense if I was upgrading from V's.
