Weaknesses: ...I'd heard some people bitching about split sidewalls, but used these tyres for several trips without problems. However, on the latest Asia tour I had the rear sidewall split after 3400 km, apparently as a result of abrasion where it contacts the rim. I was able to keep mobile with the aid of gaffer tape until reaching a town where I could buy a dreadful Chinese tyre for $2, but it could've been a disaster. I'd be wary of trusting this type of tyre in the future.
Strengths: All the above, plus the fact that even laden with luggage it has exhibited zero frame flex on my latest tour, even honking up big hills. However...
Weaknesses: ...the driveside rack mount at the bottom of the chainstay is a bit weedy, and has sheared off (on admittedly very bad mountain roads - hose clips & gaffer tape, don't leave home without them kids). I intend getting a chunky replacement brazed on when I return to the UK, at which point I'll be entirely happy with this frame as a bombproof tourer. This flaw is the frame's only weakpoint (the combined rack/disk mount on the left side of the bike seems sturdy enough not to be a problem).
Overall: A rather specific product description, perhaps?
