| 'GREAT LIGHT, SOME DESIGN ISSUES' | | Strengths: They are brilliant lights, the turbo even better than the original race. | | Weaknesses: Switch in both incarnations is fiddly. Needs to be larger and more robust. Possibly a separate on/off to the mode switch.
Mount bracket needs redesigning.
Battery mount needs cushioning to maintain contact. | | Overall: First, the light is very good at illuminating. I have the original race, and a race turbo. The turbo is even better.
I ride with these every day to work along pot holed lanes.
BUT - the mounting is not the best designed and one of mine fell off after a week. I was told it was a batch fault and was eventually swapped.
AND - the switch is fiddly especially with cold fingers and is not too good in the wet. The idea of cycling through the settings by pressing is annoying.
AND - the battery easily stops contacting and the contacts have to be cleaned. I put a small sticky pad in the casing, the design needs changing.
AND I had a circuit board fail on me which took some convincing to get a replacement. They repaired it, at this price and within 2 weeks of new it should have been replaced. |
