Strengths: Very high quality bike. Frame is unbreakable and components are all well up to the job. Brakes work very well. Dual roller chain tensioner keeps the chain on whatever happens to the bike.
Weaknesses: Slightly heavy for a childs bike, but as said it is basically bullet-proof. Reflectors are the only things to have broken.
Overall: Bought this for my son last Xmas (shh, its from Santa actually!). He's now 7 and loves this bike. While kids don't notice details between their bikes and thier friends bikes at this age, I do. This makes cheap bikes from Halfords etc. look complete rubbish. I feel it's money well spent as it's easy to maintain and therefore safer than cheap bikes which break all the time. Highly recommended.
Strengths: I have been wearing these for a while now and they are still in great condition. Worn them on cold, wet muddy days as well as hot days on the road with no problems. Always comfortable and practical.
Weaknesses: none
Overall: Highly recommended. Look good, comfortable and with plenty of pockets for your money, phone etc.
Strengths: Totally waterproof, fits well, comfortable, breathable and looks good.
Weaknesses: None I have found.
Overall: I got this half price in a summer sale during 2004 so it was a bargain. Wore it through the winter and love it. Before there were days when I would not have ventured out, now I go out in any weather!
'GOOD COMPUTER, GREAT VALUE PRODUCT (6 FUNCTION NOT 12)'
Strengths: Great price, works just fine. Useful 'pacer' function flashes an up or down arrow to indicate if you are riding above or below your average speed.
Weaknesses: Mine is actually the 6 function (Current speed, maximum speed, trip distance, total distance, riding time and 12/24 hour clock) There is no back-light.
Overall: I wanted a wireless computer, but on a budget, as I was unsure how much I would use it. This is a great product, no problems with the unit, easy set-up, good wireless range etc. Not the smallest, lightest etc. but for under £15 what do you want? Highly recommended.
Strengths: Very well made pedal for the money. Easy to use and set-up. Usual high quality Shimano kit.
Weaknesses: Some SPD shoes can be difficult to engage due to catching on the pedal cage. (I have Diadora Cobra's now which are fine).
Overall: Good first SPD pedal. Useful when using the bike just to pop to the shops in normal trainers/shoes. For anyone not using SPD pedals, try it, it is worth the effort/money. I feel they make a big difference on longer rides.
Strengths: Good quality, easy to use. Clear gauge and good pump volume makes inflating tyres a joy. Looks pretty much unbreakable. Hopefully I've got this for life.
Weaknesses: SwitchHitter head works better on schraeder valves. Need to take care with presta valves to avoid air leaks when inflating.
Overall: As I usualy run schraeder valves on my and my families bikes, this is a great product for me. It has turned a real chore into a joy! I'll never ride an under inflated tyre again.
Strengths: Very bright and very small. Nicely put together (metal body with plastic clamp) feels like a quality product.
Weaknesses: Plastic bracket came loose and needed a little glue, but fine now.
Overall: I bought one to use with my existing halogen light, but it made the halogen look totally hopeless. So I bought another one, mounted both under the bars either side of the stem (at slightly different angles) and am very happy with the results. Road use mainly with some dark tow paths.
Strengths: Braintrust fit is very good and keeps the helmet in place without feeling 'tight'. Well vented, a bit too much so for winter rides.
Weaknesses: Visor clips to helmet, which looks like it could get damaged easily (but no problems so far)
Overall: Mine is actually a Chamonix Race but I think it is only the colours that are different. Wife's just good one as well and very happy with fit etc. Good helmet for sub-£30.
