Strengths: Can they be beaten? Mud, what mud? They just don't clog up like other spd's. Loads of float. Unclip easier than Shimano's
Weaknesses: Engaging isn't as instinctive as Shimanos
Overall: I swapped my shimano DX spd's for these not too long ago, and these are far better. the design is so simple - it just makes sense. They take a little long to set-up than Shimano's but once they're done and you're familar with the engaging mechanism, which is slightly different to shim's, these are the way forward. I use them for trail riding and DH racing. They come in the best packaging ever as well.
Strengths: The Whistler Bike Park is just so much fun. Lots of jumps, berms, drops, tabletops and bears, all easily accessible on the gondola. The best biking on the planet. Surprisingly affordable.
Weaknesses: I had to learn to ride flats! Errr, that's it!
Overall: I had the best week of riding in my life in Whistler with T2R. I'd hear so much about Whistler and the Bike Park, but it really did exceed my expectations. The big surprise for me was how affordable it all was. My flights were pretty reasonable (£300 rtn), my accomodation with T2R was first class, and I got lots of discounts through T2R, including my lift pass. Back agaion next season for a longer stay. Can't fault the riding or T2R's service.
