Strengths: Solid suspension design, Fox forks and shock, good standover (unlike a lot of FS bikes),looks good!
Weaknesses: Have to agree tyres are not good in UK winter, probably OK in summer. Mech hanger snapped on first ride (get a spare when u buy it).
Overall: This is my first FS bike and I am impressed. You can pedal the bike through the rough stuff and it goes up hill OK, especially if it is rough ground. Relatively light, fun to ride. Does feel a bit like you are not in contact with the ground but I ache a lot less and can ride further. Word of warning in that the mech hanger snapped of on my first ride going up hill without being knocked! Get a spare one when u buy the bike. Will post a long term review as had the bike 1 month (4 rides at Afan and Aberystwth, first impressions are good though. PS I got my local bike shop to sell it to me for cash and they gave £280 off.
Strengths: Stable no fuss design, massive mud/tyre clearance, bolt on brake bosses. Lots of thought been put into frame design. Good for UK riding!
Weaknesses: A bit heavy, doesn't feel very exiting to ride at times. Paint is a bit soft, and I'd of liked some color options.
Overall: Very good UK/Old school bike for people who just want to ride. Won't suit techo full sus people who want a hyperlite bike, this will however last a lot longer and I reckon you'll also enjoy riding it for longer!
Strengths: Very little squealinging, good solid progressive braking feel, pads have lasted well. Havn't leaked yet.
Weaknesses: A little bit heavy, adjusting (old non-hayes mount model) is a pain. Not stick in your spokes stopping power like new hope minis.
Overall: I like these brakes, they work very well if not brilliantly and don't seem to squeal all the time like a lot of other disc brakes I've used. If want dependable braking that won't amaze you these are for you.
