Seb Rogers/Trailaddiction Alps photo week 2009

Pro mountain bike photographer and occasional Bikemagic contributor Seb Rogers has been running hugely popular mountain bike photography weekend workshops in the Lake District and the Quantocks for several years.

Now he's teamed up with Alpine holiday specialists Trailaddiction to offer a week of riding and shooting on pristine Alpine singletrack. While Seb's UK-based weekends have proved to be suitable for almost total novices behind the camera, the Alps course is aimed at photographers looking to hone their action shooting skills on some of the best trails in Europe.

"My classic course format has been a big hit," says Seb, "but a week-long trip to the Alps should provide slightly more experienced photographers with the opportunity to really improve their bike pics. Oh, and the riding's pretty special, too..."

"Slightly more experience" in this case means photographers confident with the basics of exposure, composition and capturing moving subjects. Seb says that anyone who's been on one of his UK weekends will certainly qualify, but if you haven't and you want to check, drop Seb a line on courses@sebrogers.co.uk.

You'll get a week of Trailaddiction's guided riding around their base in Les Arcs - lift-accessed trails, proper mountains, Alpine meadows, forests, rocks, all that - with four days of photo tuition and feedback. At the end of each day you'll retire to Trailaddiction's Les Arcs chalet.

The week begins on 22 August 2009. The £895 cost includes full board accommodation plus all guiding for a week, and photo tuition for four days. You'll need to add flights, airport transfers (£20 per person each way), lift pass (around £49 per person) and compulsory accident insurance.

There are just four places available, so best get your skates on - a £95 deposit gets you on. For more details or to book a place, contact Seb on courses@sebrogers.co.uk.

Find out more about Seb (and read his blog) at www.sebrogers.co.uk, and get the lowdown (although "highup" would perhaps be more appropriate) on Trailaddiction at www.trailaddiction.com.
