Mountain Bike World Cup round 3 results

This weekend's World Cup race in Houffalize, Belgium saw the usual suspects triumph on a course suited to powerful riders. Roland Green (Trek) couldn't quite match the speed of Marco Bui in the time trial, but made good on the Sunday race day, finishing over a minute clear of Bas van Dooren. As predicted, the power course suited British rider Ian Wilkinson best and he finished in a creditable 44th place ahead of Liam Killeen in 53rd.

Thanks to Caroline Alexander's excellent current form, Britain fared a lot better in the womens races. She placed a superb 3rd in the time trial behind winner and Specialized team mate Marga Fullana, but had to be content with an impressive 6th place after her other two team members, Fullana and Barbara Blatter took a podium one - two, ahead of Alison Sydor. This leaves Caroline in 7th place in the overall rankings after 3 rounds.

We've only got bare results at the moment, but hopefully we'll have race reports from Caroline and the others later in the day.
