Updated!!! Mystery Lights Were Mountain Bike Kev

A huge, low-flying mystery object adorned with bright lights spotted skimming silently across the Peak District moors last night has been identified as BIKEmagic regular and occasional contributor Keven Hodgson. (For serious version scroll down)

Kev eats Glossop for breakfast

Worried residents were reassured once Kev had landed in Glossop at around dawn. After devouring most of the contents of Tesco, Kev confessed that he had been cycling since 1.30 am after getting peckish and setting off in search of an open caff from his Sheffield home. Some 36 miles of Peak off road later, our Kev was still looking for a caff.

'What day is it?' He asked before setting off towards home via Edale Cross and Jacob's Ladder to complete his mythical mid-summer Peak migration. If you find Kevin, feed him buns. Well done fella.

Serious Version:

BIKEmagic member Kevin Hodgson last night began an arduous 67-mile off road marathon around the Peak District.

Starting at 1.30 am from his Sheffield home, Kevin rode on bridleways wherever possible, crossing Stanage on the venerable Causeway and catching dawn from the saddle on Cut Gate. ( better than catching, say scabies from the saddle, but that's not in this version).

Arriving in Glossop at 7 am some 36 miles later, a battered but unbowed and god-like Kev, professed himself 'very tired' before tucking into a serious fried breakast.

'What day is it?' - 36 miles down
20 or so to go.

He left Glossop around one hour later, to return to Sheffield via Hayfield, Edale Cross and Jacob's Ladder, finally arriving home at around 1 pm.

'I just want to sleep', he commented, before going to bed. During the ride Kevin used a selection of bike-mounted lights and two head torches for supplemental illumination.
