Raleigh around UK production

There's been a fair bit of doom and gloom in the bike industry recently so it's nice to have some good news, and that's that the new Raleigh factory planned for Nottingham has finally received planning permission.

Planning permission was originally granted back in June, but was challenged by Bulwell allotment holders and a wildlife conservation group. Further investigations were then launched. But according to bikebiz.co.uk no newts - or other aniamls - were found to be threatened by the building of the £14m factory, so planning permission has now been given

It's good to see that this investent in production is going to Nottingham rather than to the Far East.
