Santa Cruz make UK specific shock bushing kit

The one complaint we keep hearing about suspension bikes using Fox rear shocks is that the aluminium spacers at either end of the shock don't last. Britain's abrasive conditions quickly grind away the soft aluminium leaving the linkage feeling baggy. This play then speeds up wear in other components, commonly like the main pivot or the shock itself. Ouch. Fortunately Dickon from UK Santa Cruz importers Jungle has been keeping an eye on the BIKEmagic consumer reviews and has organised for a replacement bushing kit to be manufactured...

“The Superlight review section has a recurring comment regarding the rear shock bushes being susceptible to UK conditions, so I thought I'd let you know that we've got a solution for you!” He continued: “UK designed and manufactured replacement shock to swingarm bush kits for Santa Cruz Superlights are now in available. Hard anodised 7000 series aluminium complete with shock eye bush and rubber o-ring seals. Extremely hard wearing and still light weight. Features a central sleeve with an end cap, rather than the symmetrical 2 piece OE design.”

The new kits are available now from your local Santa Cruz dealer santacruzbikes.com for around £14.00. Well worth it we think as replacing worn spacers should prevent terminal wear on much more expensive parts.

So next time you've got a grumble, or an idea about how to improve a product you use get a report in the consumer reviews section, you never know who's watching and is ready to sort help you out!
