BMers plan 10k singletrack trail for south west

If you're based on the South West, or are a frequent visitor there, you'll probably already be aware of the the lack of purpose-built trails in the area. Well now two enterpising BMers, Richie Jones and Geoff Killen have decided to do something about it and build a legitimate 10k trail in Haldon Forest, Exeter, and you can help.

"Think Coed y Brenin, Afan Argoed with YOUR input on your doorstep" says man-with-a-plan, Richie Jones, who's trying to drum up support for the trail and has already made some headway with the Forestry Enterprise. The FE recognise that there's a problem with the absence of purpose-built trails and the extent of illegal trail building in the area and have shown some support for Richie and Geoff's trail plan. The next step is that they want to know how much support there is in the local MTB community for the trail.

If you're interested in showing support, or even getting more involved, then go along on Wednesday, 18th September to the Seven Stars Public House, Kennford, Devon from 7pm onwards. The aim of the meeting is to gauge support for the trail and, hopefully, to form an official local club.

The trail already has its own microsite that will keep you up-to-date with all the developments regarding the trail.
