You Shore? Yeah, Mabie

Elevated trails at Mabie

The fine people at Mabie Fores in Scotland are looking for volunteers to help them build some proper tricky North Shore-style constructions for the new "Dark Side" trail. Mabie already has a bit of Shore on the Phoenix Trail, but they're looking for something harder and further off the ground...

Mabie trail builder Andy Hopkins wants to join together the "fingers" of a hand-shaped rock formation with elevated wooden trails, which sounds mildly scary to us. He can't do it alone, though, so six volunteer trail building sessions are being planned. They're all on Saturdays - December 6, December 20, January 3, January 17, February 7, February 21. Start time is 10.30am and there'll be time to get a quick ride in afterwards.

Bring outdoor clothing, lunch, bike and enthusiasm, and you'll get some free chocolate to keep you going. Bonus! For more information contact Karl Bartlett or visit the 7stanes site.
