We have here details of the multi-faceted bike-related extravaganza that is the Keswick Easter Fat Tyre Festival, organised by Keswick Mountain Bikes. It takes place over three days from 10-12 April 2004, and as well as fairly conventional bike rides the programme also includes skill schools, fancy dress night rides, lake jumping (into, we presume, an authentic Lakeland lake), treasure hunts and all sorts of other stuff.

The fun extends into the evening - part of the Keswick MTB empire is the rather splendid Lakeland Pedlar, purveyors of fine foods to the bicycle gentry, and there's a chilli dinner there on the Saturday night. And Sunday night demands the donning of dancing trousers and getting down to the tunes of the mysterious DJ Des...

As if all that wasn't enough, you can also avail yourself of test bikes from Kona and Cannondale, and if KMTB's plans go according to, er, plan then pro riders Tracy Moseley, Scott Beaumont and Cedric Gracia should be in attendance too.
