Jackal jump bike echos V10 styling

We've already waved Santa Cruz's new models, the Blur 4X and Jackal, under your noses, but SC's UK wing has some news of its own. The key development is in the area of money, with all of the single-pivot full suspension frames seeing significant price cuts. To make life simple, they're all the same price too - the Superlight, Juliana and Heckler are now £899 with paint and a Float R or £999 for the anodised option. Shock options are available across the range, including Manitou Swinger and Fox RP3 and DHX units.

The revised V10 downhill frame and long-awaited VP Free freerider are, we're told, now in stock (£2,099 for the V10, £pound;1,699 for the Free).

There's been a range of custom build options for a while, but for 2005 you'll be able to choose a couple of levels of no-brainer fully-built Superlights. The £1,599 SL Trail and £1,899 SL Mountain both come equipped with 100mm Manitou Skareb Super forks. The Trail has a Float R shock and Deore bits, the Mountain gets an RP3 shock and full LX. These bikes are also available in Juliana women's versions with suitable component swaps.

It looks like all the 2005 details have made it on to the Santa Cruz UK site, so have a look there for more.

How can they charge £100 for anodising? Sure, the price cuts are good, but things like this still show we're getting ripped off in this country.

You could get it custom anodised yourself for less than that.
