Scott Beaumont at Fort William, just before getting his bikes nicked

Two reasonably well-known faces in the mountain bike world have suffered bike thefts this week. First and biggest was an £18,000 raid on 4X and DH racer Scott Beaumont's house. The thieves got away with eight MTBs (plus a frame), a BMX and a road bike. Scott's asking everyone to keep an eye out for the following:

Two 2005 Kona Stab Supreme Downhill Bikes: One Medium, one Small. Both white, blue and red. Fox 40 forks, MRP chain devices, USE seatpost and saddle, Tioga rims, Hayes brakes, Race Face Diabolus cranks, Tioga bars and stems, Sram x.0 mechs and shifters.

Two Kona King Kikapu XC mountain bikes: One 18in, one 15in. Standard spec except for USE carbon bottle cages and USE seatposts and saddles.

One Kona Dawg 4X race bike: Silver front end, black rear end. MRP Slalom chain device, Fox 80 RLT forks, Race Face Atlas cranks, road cassette on rear wheel, Tioga rims, USE seatpost and seat, SRAM X.0 mech and shifter, Tioga bars and stem. Unused this year, showroom condition.

One Kona Cowan 4X race bike: Light brown, spec as for Dawg.

One Kona Mama race BMX: Red. USE Alien carbon seatpost, Standard Industries handlebars.

One Kona Explosif XC MTB: 1998 model, dark blue, SRAM v brakes, Sun Ditch Witch sun rims.

One Kona Dudu frame: 4X FS frame, shock missing, white and blue.

One Kona Kapu road bike: Standard spec, white and blue.

One prototype Kona XC FS bike from 2002: Distinctive as the frame stickers are not lacquered. They're also the wrong stickers - the bike says Chute on it. USE carbon handlebars and Atom stem.

Five pairs of wheels: Tioga rims, black with white stripe, mix of Hope and Ringle hubs. There are a mix of 20mm and QR front hubs and 12mm and QR rears.

The stolen On-One 29er: Not sepia-toned in real life

Meanwhile in Calderdale, On-One's Brant Richards had his prototype 29er lifted from outside the Mason's Arms in Gauxholme. It's fairly easy to spot - it looks like an Inbred rigid singlespeed but it's got bigger wheels. It's the only one in the country (if you don't count the one-off 29er frame On-One did for a chap in Sussex a while back). A Kona Coiler went walkies at the same time.
