Endura's best known for classic products like the MT500 shorts and jerseys, but it also does a range of gloves. The Full Monty is described as a lightweight summer glove, but as a full-finger offering it's perfectly serviceable for much of spring and autumn too.

All the usual glove features are here. The palms are synthetic suedey stuff, supplemented by a neoprene palm pad, a padded, textured panel across the base of the fingers and a reinforced area between finger and thumb. The cuff is neoprene with a Velcro tab and there's a pull-tab to help you get them on. The first two fingers are equipped with textured rubbery bits for grip and the back of the glove is slightly stretchy and well-ventilated without being too draughty. And of course there's a fleecy bit to wipe things on.

The fit is good (and they're available in five sizes from S to XXL so you should be able to find just the right size), they're comfortable and not too hot or cold. There's no unpleasant bunching and the padded bits seem to be in largely the right places.

It's not all good, though. As you can probably see from the picture, our test gloves have shed quite a lot of the grippy bits and they're looking somewhat tatty around the base of the thumb. That said, the tatty bit of the palm appeared during the first few rides and hasn't got any worse, and there's no sign of them actually coming apart or anything. They've also been through the washing machine plenty of times with no apparent ill-effects.

Comfortable, good price, understated design

Look a bit untidy quite quickly but don't seem to get any worse after that

Verdict

Twenty quid is pretty much par for the course for this kind of glove and the Full Monty is generally rather good. It loses marks just for starting to look "lived-in" a bit sooner than we're used to.

Do not buy these gloves! Good value, good looking gloves and comfy too I thought. Sure it started shedding grippy buts within the first ridem but who cares. However, within 2 weeks of riding (on road, no falling off, just riding) a hole appeared in the palm of the glove. What happens if you were to use these in anger falling off? I for one am not willing to find out. 0 stars.
