Fort William World Cup - 26-28 May 2006
Fort William will kick start this years world cup as the first round of the UCI Mountain Bike World series heads to Scotland.
Building on the success earned since the first triple UCI World Cup in 2003, Mike Jardine from Rare Management said: 'It's going to be tough to build on the amazing weekend in September 2005 with the dream British double win on the Sunday. But every year the Fort William World Cup has got bigger and better, so in 2006 we'll have to keep pushing forward. We've got such a good team and the spectator support is so strong that I'm sure Fort William will once again deliver.'
It'll also be a chance for the organisers to ensure they're fully prepared for the World Championships when it comes to Scotland in 2007, the first time the World Champs will be staged in the UK.

Open24 - 29/30 July 2006
Designed to turn on those riders who like their rides hard, the Open24 combines MTBing, trekking, swimming, canoeing and other challenges. The event is pretty full-on, but is structured so riders wanting an easier time can still have fun and take part in the weekend.
Event organiser James Thurlow said: “The Yorkshire Dales has so much to offer the Adventure Racer with the natural environment providing the ideal playground”.
The event is open to male, female and mixed pairs, and costs £200. Though still being planned, the organisers are confident the event will be bigger and better than last years.
