Last weekend saw Round One of the 2006 NPS 4X series. Possibly uniquely for a national mountain bike race, the 4X was held at Sheffield Dirt Society's rather splendid Wheelbase indoor track. Wheelbase was built primarily with BMX in mind, so it's a tight track for MTB 4X racing.
That didn't stop Mitchell Brooks (12-17 Novices), Tom Shaw (18+ Novices), Joshua West (Juvenile), Ryan Poolman (Senior), Jeff Dovey (Master), Chris Jackson (Junior) from winning their respective categories. In the Elites, Martin Ogden beat Scott Beaumont to the line.
