Eurobike 2006 - More new bikes

Bianchi

Bianchi is best known for its road bikes, indeed sister site RoadCyclingUK.com rates its Tarmac blasters very highly. MTBs are not something that Bianchi is particularly renowned for, but the Kavra enduro bike shows that there's still scope for 'unique' designs. The four-bar design provides 150mm of travel.

Merida

Merida bikes always stand out. That could be down to a slightly excessive use of green paint, so it's reassuring to see some bikes that a little more subtle in the colour department. Their new all-mountain bike features asymmetric stays and a heavily dropped top tube. We also spotted this interesting carbon rigid fork.

Cannondale

We revealed the new bikes in the Cannondale 2007 range a while ago, so we were familiar with everything on its stand. But it was nice to get a close look at the new range, and check out the paintjobs - we're loving their new direction.

Titus

We got rather excited when we saw these bikes from Titus. The Exogrid manufacturing technique as seen on the Racer-X looks fantastic, and was easily a Eurobike highlight for us. A titanium tube has shapes cut out of it, and a ready laid up wet tube of carbon fibre is placed inside. It's then expanded via an inflatable device and the result is a rather bling looking tube. The technique has also been applied to golf clubs and baseball bats.

Hmm, see what you mean about the Bianchi's. First one definately looks like it hit all the branches on the way down. Looks rather similar to a £99 Argos MTB.

Having said that, the 'Dales & Titus bikes look really nice. Titanium & carbon fibre ? I need to have a cold shower...
