Bicycle Film Festival hits Edinburgh next month

Edinburgh is hosting its second Bicycle Film Festival (the first was a great success in June 2006) and it's looking like it'll become a regular event at the Filmhouse during Bike Week from now on too.

Due to the popularity of the film festival the organisers iare running a mini-festival of bicycle films this 4/5 February at the Filmhouse, Lothian Road in Edinburgh.

The films on show celebrate some of the world's best mountain biking films as well as the pleasures of urban cycling and the sense of positive community space that can be created when we cyclists reclaim the streets.

Sunday 4th February

  • 13.00 Double Bill BITS 3, CKD - Collectively Krankin' Up the Disorder. PLUS Kranked 6: Progression by Bjorn Enga. Followed by short film preview of Extended Family by Edinburgh filmmaker Chas Nairn.
  • 18.00 A Day Out by top British filmmakers Stephen Frears (My Beautiful Laundrette and The Queen) and Alan Bennett. Followed by short film Jon Snow Cycles Italy (Jon Snow is president of CTC)

    Monday 5th February

  • 18.30 (We aren't blocking traffic) We are traffic is a history of the Critical Mass bicycle movement and its monthly ritual of reclaiming the streets. Followed by a discussion and Q+A about Critical Mass.
