Helly Hansen Natural Collection

The company responsible for the classic and ubiquitous Lifa base layers is going natural. Their new Natural Outdoor collection has been designed to maximise protection, comfort and style whatever the weather. The new range includes fast drying packable windshells, technical rainwear and thermal jackets.

While Helly Hansen doesn't offer cycling specific clothing, much of their products happily cope with the ordeals of cycling, and certainly their fabrics cope just fine. It's the case with the £50 Viz jacket, a lightweight water and wind resistant jacket which is ideal for a bit of cycling/running/other sport stuff. Its mesh lined to pull sweat away from the body, has plenty of reflective panels so would be an ideal choice for commuting. Available in a range of colours.

The Stratos is intended as an emergency windshell, and as such packs up really small for stashing in your hydration pack. Available in a range of colours for Men and Women, it costs £35.

Though only just making the suitable-for-bikes category, if you're looking for an all-round jacket suitable for several sports, the £190 Ikaros Jacket is worth a look. 3 layer HellyTech fabric on the shoulders and hips with lighter 2.5 everywhere else. Strong colour blockings feature to provide high visibility during night time excursions.
