Windwave gets A2Z

Solent (UK) (possibly better known to UK mountain bikers as Windwave) has announced that it's become the sole UK distributor for A2Z disc brake gubbinses. A2Z doesn't make brakes, but what it does do is turn out a lot of handy bits and bobs to either upgrade or maintain your brakes, or just plain make them work on your bike.

An A2Z spokesperson says: "The arrival of the modern bicycle disc brake system brought brake performance to a new level; however, it also created a whole new set of problems with a dizzying array of different mounting standards, rotor sizes and compatibility issues. A2Z Design and Development aims to change all that by offering a complete line of components and accessories to solve your disc brake problems."

Pictured is a loose handful of A2Z offerings. The AD-PMPM203 caliper adaptor is just one of a huge range of bolt-on brackets for all your IS-post mount/rotor enlarging/fitting new calipers to old frames and forks needs. This particular one pushes a standard post mount caliper out to take a 203mm rotor - £14.95.

There's also an epic range of brake pads to fit pretty much anything. Various compounds, the packs all include any necessary retention pins and springs and at just under a tenner a pair they're very reasonably priced too. Also reasonably priced is the replacement rotor range. 160, 180 or 203mm diameter, stainless steel, wavy or round edges (the A2Z site lists jaggedy ones too, but we'd suggest avoiding those - catching yourself on the edge of a cirular rotor is bad enough...) and also just under a tenner.

All the A2Z stuff is at www.a2zcomponents.com, Windwave can be found at www.windwave.co.uk.
