MaXx Exposure 2007

Trail Break and Exposure Lights will be holding the third MaXx Exposure night-time enduro on the night of 23/24 September 2007. As is now traditional, the course will be an 80 miler along the South Downs Way from Winchester to Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield.

Organisers Trail Break and Exposure Lights will have all the logistics sorted - high-visibility reflective trail signs, a BBQ breakfast at the finish and transport to get you back to the start point. For 2007 the event will be expanded into a full weekend of nocturnal frolics, with a Mini MaXx out-and-back route from Queen Elizabeth Country Park, a special short loop within the forest park itself plus the Butser Night Flight, an illuminated descent of Butser Hill, the highest point on the South Downs.

The forest loop will be the work of local trail experts Velocity Bikes. Exposure Lights will have demo lights for you to try out free of charge, and South Downs-based instructor and guide Grant Taylor of www.downlandbiking.co.uk will be leading hourly rides from 6pm until midnight for anyone who feels the need for some expert company.

"It's a real buzz! For sheer atmosphere and enthusiasm, this has been the event of the year for us for the last couple of years," says Martin Harrison from Trail Break. "Everyone has thrown themselves into it 110%, the riders, our team, our sponsors and supporters who run the checkpoints. Like any true challenge, it brings out the best in people."

Lots of local shops and companies will be on hand supporting the event. USE, Quest Adventure and South Downs Bikes will be staffing the checkpoints, while Red Planet Bikes and Velocity Bikes will be at Queen Elizabeth Country Park to welcome riders home and help out with the Mini MaXx. And of course there'll be "Phil's Unfeasibly Big Breakfast in a Bun" at the finish, plus free camping. All of the above shops will be offering lights for sale or hire at the event.
