FC seeks shop/cafe for Ae

Fancy running a bike-related business in Scotland's ever-popular 7stanes trails? The Forestry Commission has moved its Ae Forest district office out of its existing buildings and plans to convert the vacant space into a bike shop and café, complete with always-useful toilets and showers.

There's a lot going on at Ae generally, in fact. A new 4km Green trail recently opened, there's a 6km Blue trail approaching completion, a 3km extension to the Ae Line (aka the Scottish Power Renewables Trail) is being worked on and there's a DH skills area under construction. Work on the new shop/caff facilities is scheduled to begin at the end of August and should be finished by the end of the year.

FC hopes to get the café and shop trading from Easter 2008, and there's a closing date of 11 September for expressions of interest in taking on the leases for either shop, café or both. All expressions of interest should be submitted by 11 September 2007 to Colin Williamson via email. For further information visit www.7stanes.gov.uk.
