Junior jumps

With bike parks getting ever more numerous and extravagant across Europe's Alpine resorts, it might look odd to deliberately design a small one with low jumps and bijou berms. But the Austrian resort of Leogang has come up with a great idea - a mini-bike park just for kids.

The new area, located close to the valley lift station, is aimed at 4 to 12 year olds. There are two courses, one with small jumps and berms and one deliberately almost flat for very young beginners. There're even some scaled-down ladder drops. And just like the grown-ups, the mountain bike stars of tomorrow don't have to push back to the top - a conveyor belt takes the strain.

Free training sessions run every Thursday from 4pm. This is a great idea - the age of the family-friendly MTB resort is coming. Find out more at www.bikepark-leogang.com.
