The weather is anything but predictable at the moment. Wake up one morning and it's sunny, the next it's raining. And even during a ride the weather can take a turn for the better, or worse. Which all makes picking the right clothing combination a head-scratching task.

Step forward Endura's Jetstream jersey. A lightweight long-sleeve item with versatility its middle name. It's made from Dry-Clim fabric, a light soft fleecey material that's as equally comfortable next to the skin serving mid-layer duties as it is providing protection from the elements in outer-layer mode. Providing extra protection from the wind and rain is a front panel made from Windtex, as denoted by the orange section.

As we've come to expect from a UK based brand, as well as getting the materials spot-on, the fit is cut just right. The shoulders and arms have been left a little loose to allow space underneath for additional layers, and an elasticated hem keeps everything in order. A full-length zip allows for temperature control, there's three pockets out back, and reflective piping aids visibility at this time of year.

The Jetstream has been a staple of our kitbag for the past couple of months, and we keep finding conditions and scenarios that the jersey excels at. It's very competent at regulating body temperature as both an outer-layer, with a waterproof shell stuffed in one of the pockets in case you get caught in a torrential downpour, which then demonstrates the jerseys mid-layer ability.

It's available in five sizes from S to XXL, with a women's option too.

Ups and downs

good Versatile, ideal for changing conditions, can be used as mid or outer-layer

bad A more subtle colour option would be nice

Verdict

Endura's Jetstream jersey is a simple and versatile long-sleeve top. Well thought out design and excellent choice of materials make it ideal for more conditions than we care to mention, and it's well priced. We've been finding it one of the most useful garments in our wardrobe for the past few months.
