Fisher Outdoor shows off

Fisher Outdoor Leisure is one of the UK's larger bike parts distributors and is responsible for getting big names like RockShox, SRAM, Avid, Met and others into the shops. Here's a few bits and bobs from its recent house show, where said shops get to see some freshly-landed kit...

RockShox's all-new Sid made its first appearance on UK soil, although this is still a pre-production fork - expect them in the shops in March. Iconic blue colour will only be available on the £599 World Cup version.

If you get a Sid World Cup, you'll be able to get matching blue Avid Juicy Ultimate brakes too.

More brakes from Clarks - this is the latest incarnation of its budget two-pot hydraulic brake. Lever has split clamp and handy reach adjuster.

Caliper is post-mount with adjustable banjo to tweak hose routing. Still quite chunky-looking, though.

Fisher is bringing in not only Look pedals and road bikes but its MTBs too. This is the top of the range carbon fibre 986, £3,999 to you.

986 frame features integrated seatpost with USE head.

fisherexpo08_met_lo (11K)

Among Met's helmet range is this impressively lightweight full-facer, seen here in Robocop silver.

fisherexpo08_santini_lo (10K)

Fisher is now importing Santini gear - don't expect much in the way of baggies, though...

fisherexpo08_schwalbe_lo (15K)

Schwalbe's new Evo tyre system includes the Nobby Nic and revised versions of the Racing Ralph and bonkers 295g Furious Fred. They all use triple-compound treads and are available in a whole bunch of sizes and are intended to be used in different combinations depending on conditions. The UST tubeless versions have also dropped an impressive 100g in weight.

Some new bits and bobs from X-Lite - this is a prototype of a chromoly/carbon fibre paddock stand. Beats leaning the bike on your car...

fisherexpo08_xlite_2_lo (16K)

Getting into grease is an obvious step for X-Lite's lubricant division - the Nytralube grease comes in a handy applicator tube.

Muc-Off is now available in flexible refill packs - just transfer to a spray bottle as you need it.

I really, really must get some of those X-lite paddock stands! How mint would it look for a photo to line up all your bikes on loads of those

I think I'm going to have to look at some of those Furious Freds for the summer too... they're 205g per tyre lighter than my Bontrager Mud Xs according to this!
