Giant has confirmed that it will be the headline sponsor of Mountain Mayhem 2008, the eleventh running of the iconic 24-hour mountain bike race, to be held at Eastnor Castle, Ledbury, Herefordshire on 20-22 June. Yes, that's a lot more than 24 hours - there'll be demo stuff going on on the Friday, with the race itself running from 2pm on Saturday. You can work out when it finishes for yourself...

Mountain Mayhem is the largest and most exciting 24 hour endurance mountain bike race in the European events calendar. Established in 1998, this year's event promises to be the largest to date with in excess of 2,500 competition riders, 450 teams, 150 soloists and a staggering 12,000 spectators expected to attend.

Collette Clensy, Head of Marketing for Giant UK, said, "It give's me great pleasure to announce Giant's continued support and sponsorship of Mountain Mayhem in 2008. We've been involved with Mountain Mayhem since its conception in 1998, and with the success of last year's record breaking tenth anniversary event we felt that we couldn't turn down the opportunity of headline sponsorship for this years event, which will be known as the Giant Mountain Mayhem 2008."

Patrick Adams, partner in Pacific Edge Events Limited and organiser of the Giant Mountain Mayhem, said, "We are delighted that Giant has taken the opportunity to be headline sponsor of this year's Mountain Mayhem. Giant has been an integral part of Mountain Mayhem since the very start. We are delighted that they continue to be so supportive of Mountain Mayhem."

Bikemagic will be a more substantial presence this year, with a category of our very own, a sizable tent/marquee thing and lots of fun stuff that we haven't quite decided what it'll be yet. Definitely fun, though. And of course we'll have the BM Works team, supported by a major manufacturer and open to you, the readers. Stay tuned for details...
