Giant Mountain Mayhem 2008

ssmm_castle_lo (9K)

With just over a month to go unti the 11th running of the Giant Mountain Mayhem, we've got a quick update from the organisers. It may be too late to get an entry in, but there's still a chance as there's a couple of free team entries up for grabs.

All you have to do is sign up to be a Mayhem World Club member (which is free) and pop over to the competition page and you'll find all the details there. Hurry up though, you've got until 8 June before they close the entries.

While you're there, there's also a couple of other hot competitions worth checking out. Such as a Ticket2Ride trip-of-a-lifetime. Or for those heading to Mayhem Neilson Holidays have stumped up £1,000 worth of vouchers for the best campsite.

If you're planning on taking the family, pack the kiddies bikes and get them over to have a go at Mini Mayhem, a jaunt around the specially constructed skills arena by junior under the watchful eye of British Cycling's highly trained Go-Ride coaches.

Giant will again be running their successful bike demo, giving you the chance to book a test ride on a special test route to try out their new bikes.

A first for 2008 is the 100km Mayhem Classic Sportive, taking place on Sunday and heading off from Eastnor Castle for those wanting to increase the challenge of the weekend a bit.

A bike mechanic and wash was only a far away dream in the ice fields and mud baths of the notorius StrathPuffer in january. We didn't have much luck either as one team member was rushed to hospital the previous night, tents were ripped down in the gales and to finnish it of my lights died at 1am. last week I made the midge infested 10 UTB missing the 98th lap by 1min 45, gutting! Do I deserve this prize place? The dates are perfect as I am in the area for the 2 weeks preveious to Glastonbury comming all the way from Skye. Please, Thanks
Stewart Urquhart.
