Intense Cycles proto Uzzi VP

Intense Cycles has leaked some details of its latest project currently in development, the redesigning of the Uzzi, onto the internet recently. The Uzzi has been out of action for the past year while Intense have been busy behind closed doors working on its replacement for 2009, and judging from these first photos, it looks to be another fine addition to the company's line-up.

The previous Uzzi VPX was very much aimed at the freeride set with 8" of travel, but the new Uzzi VP looks to offer a bit more versatility, in the same vein as the also-recently redesigned Tracer VP. The main difference is adjustable travel, the Uzzi VP delivering, via new VPP linkages, 6.75” to 7.25”.

The frame also features the same second generation VPP linkages, with new bearings all round and stiffer linkages, as the Tracer VP. A 1.5” head tube features up front and the bottom bracket is an integrated designed, with ISCG 05 tabs.

Quoted head angles on this current prototype with a Fox 36 is 67° and something like a Rock Shox Totem 180 will give 66°. Leverage ratio is 2.5/1, and will come with either coil or air shocks, depending on the sort of build you opt for.

More details (when we'll hopefully see the latest incarnation of this frame later this week at Eurobike) soon, and prices TBC.

That seat angle looks more than a little steep. I'm assuming to counteract the mahoosively high front end?

Is there any further information on which shock mount / position they're likely to go with?
