Marin
Marin's latest bike, the Alchemist, was turning heads at Eurobike. This new model fills the gap created when the Mount Vision, previously the company's XC bike, gained extra travel and was repositioned as more of a trail bike.
The Alchemist's unique look clearly breaks with Marin convention, but the dramatic shape is the result of Marin's desire to create the lightest and stiffest Quad Link bike to date. Travel is 100mm (4") with an updated Quad 2.0 layout and sharper geometry.
The Alchemist's looks 'may' divide opinion
Downtube extends down to the repositioned shock
Lots of intricate design to fit everything into a compact space
The new Mount Vision 5.9 gains a weight reduction with the addition of a monocoque carbon fibre swingarm. Four grades of carbon fibre and a uni-directional outer weave layer are used in the complex build procedure. The alloy pivot hardware is co-moulded during the building of the swingarm. Future-proofing is assured with modular dropouts.

There's a lot of work and many layers of carbon fibre that goes into each swingarm
Lots of hydroforming on the swoopy top and downtubes
It's worth remembering that Marin still offers sorted hardtails
Bold new colours for the Quad Trail 140
