Fort William Endurance Downhill this weekend

fortbill_jonnier05 (19K)

This weekend sees the first running of the Fort William Downhill Endurance, a frankly bonkers-sounding six-hour descentfest on the famous Nevis Range World Cup DH course.

The format features an uphill Le Mans-style start followed by as many gondola uplifts and DH runs as you can manage before either time runs out or (more likely) your forearms explode. Organisers No Fuss Events reckon that it's possible to get 12 in, which would certainly be impressive.

Apparently 120 people have signed up, which is an impressive number for something like this - clearly the draw of the World Cup course is strong. There are still places available, though, if you've got a last-minute repetitive-DH scratch that needs itching - head to www.nofussevents.co.uk.
