Bedgebury trails get updated

Bedgebury trails get updated

Since opening in spring 2006, 150,000 people have ridden the Bedgebury Forest trail centre in Kent, and the trails that have proved a popular hit have recently been upgraded.

Thanks to the Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club (BFCC), improvements have recently been made to the 14km XC singletrack trail, with new berms and jumps being added.

Catering for families, the 10km family cycling track now has a shorter 4km loop on which beginners can cut their teeth. The Bike Park's North Shore-style Freeride Area and Dirt Jump course give freeriders of all abilities a chance to show-off their 'air-time' skills in style.

For anyone without their own kit, the all-new custom-built Quench Cycles bike shop has top brands for sale or hire, with qualified mechanics on hand to ensure bikes are ready for the challenges of Bedgebury. After a forest mudfest, you can clean up your bike in the state-of-the-art eco-friendly bike wash, shower yourself and head for the remodelled Bedgebury Pineatery for a bacon sandwich and a coffee.

2008 has also seen the development of the Go-Ride cycle skills course. The BFCC's three British Cycling accredited coaches can now introduce mountain biking to young riders and help hone the skills of more experienced riders seeking to improve their bike handling techniques.

The Cycle Club organises many member events, including exhilarating night rides, out-rides to other cycling venues and a race series using our dedicated race course facilities.
