The Forestry Commission has linked up with the CTC Cycling Development Project and North Yorkshire Sport to encourage families and those new to cycling the chance to take part in some free mountain bike coaching on 29 October.
Dalby Forest will host the first ever family fun day on Dalby's new £400,000 cycle trail network, which attracted over 50,000 people last year. This is a chance for people of all abilities to get out on the trails with novices being offered free bike rides accompanied by a CTC instructor, along with a mountain bike skills assault course, displays and even road safety computer games.
"Dalby is a tremendous place to explore on a bike with great facilities, matched by a breathtaking landscape,” says Stuart Startup, Forestry Commission Bike Ranger. “We're keen to get more folk involved, including youngsters and adults who haven't been on a bike since school days. Healthy exercise boosts the mind, body and spirit and time spent in the saddle can do you a power of good."
