Kinesis UK Decade (and more)

More details on Kinesis UK's 10th birthday specials, plus carbon fibre race frame and something for the ladies

We brought you a sneak peak of Kinesis UK's Decade range a little while ago - the full lineup, celebrating 10 years of Kinesis UK, has now been revealed. Pictured is the KUK Decade Virtue MTB, a Tange chromoly all-rounder. At the back is a "Swapout" interchangeable dropout system, allowing bolt-on choices of regular vertical dropouts, rear through-axle holes or singlespeed-ready track ends. The frame is built with enough heft to take forks up to 140mm but the geometry is apparently happy with 80mm prongage too. Based on that, we'd expect the 100-120 range to be very agreeable for general riding - decide how relaxed you want to be and choose accordingly.

There'll be a choice of colours (the green is particularly eye-catching) and the £349 asking price looks entirely reasonable. The Decade range also includes a dropout-swappable geared/singlespeed/fixed road frame and a 26in wheel "fast commuter" device.

There are a couple of new offerings beyond the celebratory Decade range, too. Following the successful introduction of full carbon frames into its road lineup, Kinesis will soon have an all-carbon MTB frame, the KM810. The one pictured is an early sample, so there may be some changes before it hits production. The signs are good, though, with a reassuring volume about the front end and nothing too gimmicky going on. Claimed frame weight is in the 2.5lb region, but we'll have to wait a couple of months for the real thing to show up.

Also new for 2009 is Kinesis's first women-specific MTB frame. The aluminium KM210 has a lightweight tubeset, stumpy integrated headset to help keep the front end low for small riders and female-friendly geometry. Availability, colours and pricing is all TBA, but this green-white "leafy fade" 'job is quite fetching and Kinesis's prices are usually competitive to say the least...

I dont think they should branch out into interior design. The colours they used are OK, but then they decided to use them together on the same bike.
