Giant pumps it up

Giant doesn't just make bicycles anymore. It's now branching out into accessories, and has launched an impressive range of such items as grips, saddles, luggage, lights, computers and much more. A box of inflation devices turned up recently, here's a look at them.

It was a big box that arrived from Giant, and it had to be. The Control Tower Pro (£69.99) is a mighty looking track pump, and is the top-rung pump from a range of five. It's impressively sturdy in build with a huge hand-polished aluminium barrel, wide handle and secure base, which makes inflating tyres a breeze. Maximum pressure is 160psi (11bar), Presta and Shraeder valve types are catered for with an Auto Head and the base-mounted valve is easy to read.

For on the road tyre inflation duties, Giant's Control Mini 2+ mini-pump (£12.99) may look small but actually features a telescoping barrel to decrease pumping time. A folding T-handle, aluminium construction, thumblock lever and in-line gauge make it a feature packed pump.

The final tyre inflation option from Giant is its Control Blast CO2 canister (£11.99) that, at just 16g, is the perfect option for emergencies when tyre is of the utmost importance. Replacement cartridge packs come in at £5.99 for 3 or £16.99 for 10.
