The UK's biggest 24-hour mountain bike enduro event returns for its twelfth year this weekend (19-21 June), with 2,500 riders making the yearly pilmigrage to Herefordshire.
Regular Mayhem attendees will know that the last couple of years have been characterised by really quite unpleasant weather and substantial acreages (not to mention depths) of mud. Hopefully the weather gods will be a bit kinder this weekend, though we've probably just gone and blown it now by talking about it.
Organiser Patrick Adams of Pacific Edge Events says: “Since its beginning back in 1998, the event has grown and developed over the years to become the biggest 24 hour mountain bike endurance event worldwide. This year expect surprises, excitement and one of the best Mountain Mayhems to date.”
A crowd of 15,000 spectators is expected to turn out to watch, part of a weekend of events including Dirt Demo, the largest mountain bike demo in the country. The main arena also includes a vast trade village full of fun activities for all the family, including the Mini Mayhem children's bike skills course.
