Only a little more than two weeks now before the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon descends onto the second new location of the 2009 season on 4/5 July.
The birthplace of lots of high profile cycling events LLanwrtyd Wells (only 10 minutes from Builth Wells) will be hosting the round 3 of the marathon series and the opening round of the sportive series.
The summer is finally here and has shown everything you would expect from a UK summer so far but it has hopefully given everyone the chance to ride their bike (road or off road) as often as they wanted.
John has been planning the courses here for the last few years and will finally get the chance to show off this very special mountain biking region to the riders. Llanwrtyd Wells also hosts the Man vs. Horse and the Real Ale Wobble event (just to mention a few) is the ideal location for a MTB marathon and will welcome the riders and their entourage with Wales typical hospitality.
The four distances will be heading into the Irfon Forest and the Cambrian Mountains, then heading west to Llyn Brianne, the Towi Valley and the Doethie Valley, the latter has been described by many as the best natural single track in the country.
