GT Golden Bike winner

goldenbike_winner (50K)

This is Steve Calland, who won the UK leg of the GT Golden Bike series at Original Source Mountain Mayhem and is therefore now the proud owner of the GT Golden Zaskar with which he's sharing the photo. Plus a jersey that doesn't really go with his shorts.

The way to win the bike was to post the fastest lap time by an amateur racer, a feat that 37-year-old BA pilot Steve achieved with an impressive 40:53, one seven laps he completed for his team. Steve returned to mountain biking four years ago after an 11 year lay-off following a motorbike crash - he's clearly been putting the miles in recently...

This is the sixth GT Golden Bike to be won - there are still 14 up for grabs but you'll have to travel to various foreign parts have a go. Visit www.gtisgolden.com to find out more.
