Out of Bounds Weekend is four days of the best freeride entertainment
The Out of Bounds Weekend takes place on 9-12 July and is a four day freeride festival. Central to the planned events is the popular 26TRIX dirt jump comp.
Riders including Darren Berrecloth, Grant Fielder, Sam Pilgrim, Trond Hansen, Martin Soderstrom, Benny Korthaus and another 50 riders have signed up to take part in the event.
The course has been updated for 2009, with a huge sized “Suzuki Air Time Line” which is claimed beats all of the jumps seen before in contests around the world. The Oakley Sick O award, a Crankworx wildcard as well as €10,000 of prize money will be some incentive for the riders. The iXS European DH Cup, including the Austrian Downhill Championships, and a packed side program will entertain all the gravity fans.
The “Suzuki Air Time Line” has been built for 2009 to launch riders higher than ever into the Austrian sky. It's not only the Oakley Sick O Award that awaits teh sickest move of the comp, but also a Kokanee Crankworx Slopestyle Whistler wildcard to the winner of 26TRIX.
The 26TRIX will be split up in a qualifying and a final day - qualifications are scheduled on Friday 10 July from 2:00pm as well as Saturday 11 July, featuring the semifinals (2.00pm) and the grand finals (5:00pm). In the semi finals, 32 riders will have two runs to show their best stuff, the better one counts. The best 15 make their way into the finals, which consist of three runs for each competitor.
The Out of Bounds Weekend also sees the iXS European Downhill Cup take place. The course is 2.3km long with a vertical drop of 480m. Bikepark Leogang's downhill track “Speedster” is technically very challenging. And it's not just for pro riders either, amateurs are invited to enter at www.ixsdownhillcup.com.
