Get your trainers out for the must do adventure race series
The Helly Hansen Adventure Race Series, organised by TrailPlus has announced five dates for the 2009/2010 series. Adventure racing is becoming increasingly popular and sees competitors of all abilities running, biking and kayaking around tough and challenging courses.
The five one-day races can be entered individually or as a series, and teams of three take on the challenge of a 10km trail run, 25km mountain biking and 1.5km kayaking. The fastest teams are likely to complete the course in less than three hours, with most coming in within five hours and a few crossing the finish line in seven hours.
The order of activities will be revealed on the day, and competitors will face a few testing challenges thrown in between circuits. As the route is fully marked there's no need to worry about navigational skills. All you need to worry about is your fitness, then…
